Experience
I bring extensive knowledge and experience to the table for my students. First, I earned my Master's in Reading, which I earned from Teachers College at Columbia University. During that time, I got to work in a reading clinic with students from fourth grade through adults. I helped them improve their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. I have also taught remedial reading classes to help pupils improve their reading and comprehension skills. Additionally, I was one of the founding faculty of a charter school in Brooklyn. I was able to help develop the curriculum, which was an enriching and rewarding experience. I gained valuable skills in analyzing and administering reading assessments to help me figure out the strengths and needs of children. So now, when I get to know a person, I create a lesson plan that helps them the most, keeping their strengths and weaknesses in mind. I have also learned that students are more interested in the material when they are offered many methods of learning it. I use multiple methods of teaching, including mnemonic devices, webquests, and more. I would love to meet your child and help them start meeting and exceeding their learning goals.
