I've always enjoyed helping others learn, and I love teaching, but discovering tutoring changed my life. I also love working with students utilizing a one-on-one approach because I get to focus on the strengths of each student I work with and customize lessons on the fly. I have a cross disciplinary academic background that is strong in science and math but also in English-language arts. This allows me to utilize concepts from science and math for students who excel there but struggle in English, for example. I'm certified to teach at both the secondary and elementary levels, so I'm comfortable working with students at any age or level of ability. I earned my bachelor's degree from Houghton College and my masters degree from SUNY-Buffalo. In my free time, I enjoy classical music, spending time with my children and grandchildren, and making crafts.
