I am a graduate of Case Western Reserve University. I studied French and science, and I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Cognitive Science. I plan on returning to school to receive my graduate degree soon. I have a long history of tutoring students, from working with students on homework to mentoring young dance students. I particularly love tutoring English writing and math. Each of these subjects have their own unique challenges, and can seem daunting, but usually I have found that students struggle with just one or two concepts and once they break through, success soon follows. Isolating that one sticky issue that is difficult for them is essential, and once that is tackled, everything else flows naturally. I like to work through many practice problems with my students and I talk through the problems one at a time. When the student is able to handle the problems on their own without my assistance, I know they have mastered the concept and we are ready to move on to the next subject. I am a waterdog by nature - I love spending time in the water! I spend a lot of time at the beach and windsurf and scuba dive. When it's cold, I like to ski whenever I can, and I have recently picked up snowboarding.
